General Information

Join a dedicated team in a vibrant healthcare setting located in Dickson, TN. This unit specializes in Women’s Services, including Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP), and offers a supportive environment for both staff and patients.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, 1 OR suite
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 for intermediate care
• Staffing Description: No techs or unit secretaries available
• Equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling Requirements: Full-time 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays, PRN to complete
• Floating Policy: Staff may float as necessary to other units, with some cross training for LDRP and NICU
• Patient Experience Requirements: Daily rounding on all patients; safety rounding

Qualifications

• Must Have: Labor and delivery experience, ability to labor and recover mothers, assess newborns, and manage OB emergencies (e.g., shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage)
• Advanced Skills: Fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil)
• Procedures Performed: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries
• Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear pink and/or brown scrubs in accordance with the infant security policy for the unit.
