General Information

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is based in Kansas City, MO and will be part of the Ortho/Trauma unit.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians available
• Type of Equipment: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts and 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float; potential for floating to other Medical-Surgical units (General MS, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma)
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Qualifications

We require the following qualifications for this position:

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in Orthopedics and Telemetry
• Familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale is preferred
• Experience with post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as trauma patients and neuro overflow

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs
