Unit Information

Join our Progressive Care Unit, featuring the following:

• Number of Beds: 44
• Number of Staff: 95
• Patient Ratios: 4 patients per nurse at grid, 5 patients per nurse stretched
• Equipment: IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, Chest tubes, Trachs, Patient lifts
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit provides comprehensive care to critically ill patients, focusing on neuro and trauma interventions. The RN will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Neuro and Trauma Care experience

Preferred Skills:

• Advanced Neuro and Trauma Care experience

Typical Procedures

The following procedures are commonly performed in this unit:

• Neuro and spinal assessments
• C-Collar and TLSO brace placement
• Management of chest tubes and PCA pumps
• Lumber drain procedures
• Feeding tube placements
• Blood transfusions

Work Schedule

The RN is expected to work every other weekend and may be required to float to stepdown or med-surg units as needed.
