Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role requires a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join a Neuro Med/Surg team. The unit specializes in providing compassionate care to patients with neurological conditions.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG Machines, Bladder Scanner, iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Information

Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends (four shifts) within a four-week period.

Patient Experience Requirements

The RN is expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to both patients and their family members. Responsibilities include delivering bedside shift reports, fostering personal connections, and involving patients and families in their care plan.

Qualifications

• Med/Surg experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask effectively
• IV start proficiency
• Basic wound care skills
• Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Licensure and Certifications

• Must hold an active RN license
• BLS certification required

Dress Code

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms).
