Description
Unit Overview
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) within a 10-bed unit primarily focused on general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting procedures. This is a rapid admission unit, with patient turnover occurring more swiftly than in typical medical surgical units.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Manage patient admissions and oversee care for multiple patients efficiently.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication.
- Work history with no gaps exceeding 60 days.
- Skills checklist and references may be required.
Working Conditions
The patient-to-nurse ratio will be approximately 5:1, providing a fast-paced environment suitable for RNs who thrive in dynamic settings.
