Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Name: Emergency Department (ED)
• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Support from techs, unit clerks, and cardiac monitoring specialists
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; flexible scheduling based on departmental needs
• Floating Policy: Floating within the ED is required; no floating outside the ED

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in an emergency room setting
• Experience in Level II trauma centers and comprehensive stroke centers, particularly in high-volume departments with over 100,000 visits
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to provide real-time feedback and coaching
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) within 90 days of hire

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs
