Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Floating: Radiology

Unit Information

• Unit Type: CT (Computed Tomography)
• Equipment: 2 Scanners (Siemens Sensation 64 & GE 16 Light Speed)
• Ratios: 10-20 scans depending on the shift, with evenings being the busiest
• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner & McKesson PACS
• Holidays: Same hours as weekends; work included in rotation
• Scrub Color: Teal
• Radiologist Coverage: Not available 24/7; utilize Nighthawk for night shifts

Responsibilities

The CT Technologist will be responsible for:

• Performing CT scans and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Handling emergency cases and contributing to crisis protocols as required.
• Maintaining equipment and workflow to adhere to safety standards and protocols.
• Working in conjunction with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Adapting to various procedures, including ER patients, Virtual Colonography, and gated procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CT imaging.
• Required Certifications:
  • ARRT (CT)
  • ARRT (R)
  • BLS Certification
  • Crisis Protocol Approved
  • Fluoroscopy Certification
• California License.

Orientation

Floor-specific orientation will be provided over 3-4 shifts to ensure familiarity with protocols and procedures.

Common Diagnoses / Types of Patients

The CT Technologist will primarily work with:

• Emergency room patients
• Patients requiring virtual colonography
• Patients undergoing gated procedures
• General CT imaging cases
