Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Job Details

• Unit: Emergency Room
• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Current PALS or ENPC certification
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • TNCC certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of ER experience
• Preferred Skills:
  • CEN certification
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Licensure: Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses will not be accepted)

Unit Procedures and Responsibilities

The Emergency Room team is responsible for a variety of critical interventions, including but not limited to:

• Conscious sedation
• Assisting with intubations
• Behavioral health monitoring
• Sepsis management
• Stroke care with TPA administration
• Chest pain protocols (Heart Alerts)

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts and jackets: white, navy, or black)
• Nail Policy: No acrylic nails, nails must be clean and less than ¼ inch
• Hair: Should be off shoulders and in natural color
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Visible Piercings: Only ear piercings are acceptable

All travelers are required to float as needed in accordance with unit policies. Please familiarize yourself with the floating policy during the interview process. Compliance with unit guidelines and policies, including attendance protocols, is expected.
