Weekends/Holidays/On-Call/Callback as per unit needs. Shifts may consist of 36 or 48 hours per week.

Position Overview

The Level II Registered Nurse is responsible for providing competent care based on established standards and will work under the guidance of the Nurse Manager. This role also involves assuming an expanded set of responsibilities, which may include serving as a charge nurse, preceptor, and active committee member.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care through clinical practice, service excellence, and adherence to established protocols.
• Participate in professional development and engage in research and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Act in leadership roles as designated, including charge nurse duties.
• Mentor and train junior staff and new employees as a preceptor.

Requirements

• New York State Registered Nurse (NYS RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only).
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
