Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry/Postoperative Care

Unit Information

Join our dynamic medical-surgical unit, specializing in telemetry and postoperative care, consisting of 24 beds with a dedicated team of 36 staff members.

General Information

• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs/LVNs, 2 aides, and 1 unit clerk
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs/LVNs, 2 aides
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Equipment: Carts on Wheels, Blood Pressure Machines, Doppler, Bladder Scanner, Heating Pads, Hoyer Lift, Sara Steady, Sit to Stand, Traction, Sequential Compression Devices, IV Pumps, PCA Pumps, Epidural Pumps, Ambit Pain Pumps, KCI & Prevena Wound Vac
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech Expanse (PCS)

Qualifications

Skill Set Required:

• Must Have:
  • Telemetry Experience
  • Postoperative Care Experience
• Preferred:
  • 2 or more years of nursing experience
  • PALS, NIH certifications

Typical Duties

• Perform daily weights and vital signs
• Monitor intake and output
• Conduct hourly rounding and bedside reporting
• Manage Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), cardiac and heparin drips
• Administer phototherapy, wound care, and IV starts
• Admit and discharge patients
• Provide care for NG tubes and Foley catheters

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

Employees are expected to sign up for every other weekend or two weekends per month. Holiday availability is required. Requests for time off must be pre-approved.

Dress Code

The prescribed scrub color is navy blue.
