Unit Information

• Unit Name: D3-A
• Number of Beds: 10 ICU/PCU Overflow
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU
• Staffing Description: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs on each shift; no unit secretaries or PCAs available.
• Type of Equipment: Lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, IV pumps.
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Schedule Requirements: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holiday support.
• Floating Policy: Travelers may be required to float to other units.

Patient Experience Requirements

• Mandatory bedside shift report in all areas.
• Relief charge nurse will perform nurse leader rounding.

Hiring Profile

Requested Skill Set

• Required Experience: Medical ICU experience in a large facility; comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management.
• Advanced Skills: Ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), advanced hemodynamic monitoring, central line management.
• Procedures: Assist providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations.

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy Blue or White Scrubs
