Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in telemetry nursing, demonstrating proficiency in handling various neurological and cardiac conditions.

Unit Highlights

The position will be in a Neuro Telemetry unit, providing an opportunity to work with patients experiencing neurological disorders, seizures, and cardiac issues.

Shift Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirements: Rotation required with a commitment of two weekend days and flexibility to meet unit needs.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 2+ years of hospital experience in telemetry nursing
• Required Certifications:
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with neuro-stroke and seizure patients
  • Familiarity with neuro-surgical care
  • Previous experience using MEDITECH
• Licensure: Active Texas RN license (Temporary licenses cannot be accepted)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting deviations
• Documenting patient care and procedures in the Meditech system
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Performing peripheral IV starts and insertions of Foley and NGT tubes

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants with a navy or white scrub jacket
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy appearance required
• Hair: Must be neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited

Additional Information

All travelers are expected to be flexible and may be required to float to other units as needed according to the floating policy.
