Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled NICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III-IV NICU setting and possess a positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Level III-IV NICU.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS, NRP, and WA state nursing license.
- Required Skills: Proficient in respiratory support for ventilators, with preferred experience in tracheostomies, g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC line management, medication administration, care planning, and discharge processes.
- Experience with patient types and common diagnoses including prematurity (down to 22 weeks gestation), Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), high-risk deliveries and patients, feeders/growers, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). Surgical patients and Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) experience are preferred.
Work Environment
The position is within a pediatric hospital setting that includes a Level IV NICU, which is the second highest level in the state, offering 70 NICU beds with an average census of approximately 50 patients. Private rooms are available in the NICU, with overflow into a Level II nursery for feeders and growers.
Schedule Details
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend; potential for a few consecutive weekends, though this is rare.
- Shift times: 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to 0730.
- Floating: May include MedSurg or PICU for patients aged 1 year and under or as Helping Hands.
Additional Information
The electronic medical record system utilized in this position is EPIC. Block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed.
