Description
Join a leading healthcare organization as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN). We are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals for our busy emergency department located in Asheville, NC. This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients in a high-volume environment.
Position Overview
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will work with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This position is responsible for assessing patient needs, delivering treatment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and be prepared to handle a diverse patient population.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically, up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Unit Staffing: Includes techs, unit clerks for support, and cardiac monitoring
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: Requires availability every other weekend; flexible scheduling based on departmental needs
- Floating Policy: Must be open to floating within all sections of the Emergency Department
Qualifications
- 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an emergency room setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-volume emergency department preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI (required before date of hire)
- NIHSS
- ENPC
Dress Code
Required uniform consists of navy scrubs.
