Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room. This position involves providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. The role requires the ability to respond quickly and effectively to varying patient needs in a fast-paced setting.

General Information
- Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
- Unit staffing description: Techs available, working in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas, triage, and unit clerks available both days and nights
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; block scheduling not available; schedule must meet department needs
- Floating Policy: Floating is only within the Emergency Department
- Patient Experience Requirements: Adhere to AIDET principles, practice respectful behavior, and ensure timely updates and communication with patients
Qualifications
- Two years of experience as a nurse, with a minimum of one year in an Emergency Room setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center with high volume (>100,000 visits annually) preferred
- Team-oriented mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - before date of hire
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Required uniform: Navy scrubs
