Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically - up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Unit Staffing Description: Technicians available in cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area, triage, and unit clerks for days and nights.
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedules must meet department needs.
- Floating Policy: No floating outside the Emergency Department. Flexible to float within all sections of the Emergency Department.
- Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET, respectful behavior, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit.
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - before submitting to role
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - before submitting to role
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - before submitting to role
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - before submitting to role
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - before date of hire
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - before submitting to role
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - before submitting to role
Position Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
- Team-oriented mentality with an ability to coach and provide feedback in real time.
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department.
Dress Code
Required uniform includes navy scrubs.
