Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a critical setting. The role includes responsibilities in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with opportunities to float to various locations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions and respond to changes in their health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Float between ICUs and PCUs as required.
- Assist with various procedures and treatments in collaboration with medical staff.
- Participate in patient and family education to promote understanding of care plans and prevent complications.
Work Schedule
This position involves primarily day shifts, with every other weekend requirements. Holidays will be rotated among permanent staff members.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
- ICU Beds: 48
- PCU Beds: 34
- Patient Ratios: ICU 1:1 or 1:2, PCU 1:3
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing.
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Experience with ventilators and IV therapy is essential.
- Strong background in Med-Surg nursing is preferred.
Additional Information
- Orientation will be provided for a minimum of 2 shifts, with a maximum of 1 week available with an educator.
- Common diagnoses include a wide range of critical care conditions.
- Support services such as respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and an IV team are available 24/7.
- Traveling nurses must be willing to float to various locations within the region as necessary.
