Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. This role is essential for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.
Schedule Details
- Shift: 12-hour Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Days per Week: 3 shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must work major holidays with potential scheduling flexibility
Orientation Process
The orientation consists of the following:
- Days 1 and 2: Two-day orientation
- Day 3: Unit-specific orientation and clinical orientation
- Day 4: Continued clinical orientation
- Day 5: Complete computer work before being assigned to units
Please note that the initial orientation will include a total of 8 hours of non-billable orientation time.
Experience Requirements
- Required: Minimum of 1 year of PCU RN experience
- Preferred: High acuity drip experience, arterial line experience, bipap and airvo expertise
Licensure and Certifications
- Current RN License in Missouri or a Compact RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

- There may be a requirement to float to lesser units as needed.

Nice organization and good education from the home office. Cons- Poor leadership at the local and regional level. Clinical Manager allow nurses to go 3-4 wks without documenting. Pt dies and you have to hold off on completing the task for the nurse to complete 3 wks of charting. CM let nurses not see pts 3 days out of week claiming to be documenting and they riding around town babysitting while drowning other nurses with 6 visits. CM does not provide education and support. CM does not address any concerns brought up by staff.
