Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse

Position Overview

This position is focused on providing high-quality care within the cardiovascular operating room setting. The role requires extensive experience in various surgical procedures related to cardiac and vascular surgery, including endovascular procedures. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to patient safety and excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac open heart, vascular, and endovascular surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care during operations.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and react to any changes during procedures.
• Participate in post-operative care and assessments.

Schedule Details

The position operates Monday through Friday, from 0600 to 1430. There are weekend on-call rotations required, as well as one winter holiday call. On-call requirements include approximately 6 to 8 days per month, with the expectation that the nurse resides within a 30-minute drive of the facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience with expertise in vascular and endovascular procedures.
• Current Illinois nursing license and BLS certification are mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Additional Information

Orientation will be provided for up to 12 hours prior to starting. Candidates must be prepared to fulfill the on-call requirements and participate in scheduled rotations. No sleep room is available at the facility.
