Here's an opportunity to join a school distric north of Wilmington, NC near the Croatan National Forest where you can take advantage of spring hiking and be close to the ocean, too!

 

We're seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to work full-time now through the end of the school year, mid-June. This district loves to extend contracts, so the opportunity to move into a position for esy or next school year are very realistic provided performance expectations are met.

*You'll work 5 days a week, 39 hours

*There will be some regional traveling between schools, mileage will be paid

*Competitive pay and benefits available, along with per diems if you're a traveler

*Rates are based on experience and range from $45-50/hour

Qualifications include:
*Successful completion of an accredited Orientation and Mobility training program and all fieldwork requirements

*Two years of experience preferred, but we will consider less experienced candidates who can work independently

*NC licensure

*Reliable transportation

Job Duties:

*You'll work with the IEP team to develp each students' orientation and mobility goals

*Work with the student to utilize their remaining senses to help them learn to navigate using kinesthetic, proprioceptive, auditory, tactil, haptic, vestibular and olfactory senses

*Manage obstacles, drop-offs and other hazards in the path of travel through human guide techniques, cane techniques and indoor/outdoor self protective techniques

Skills Required:

*Knowledge of the restrictive effects of visual impairments

*Skill in the use of mobility equipment

*Ability to effectively communicate and work with faculty and teachers for best outcomes

Travel Farther Together Referral Program: Payout is tiered. The $1,200 per clinician reward applies only after you’ve referred 10 or more clinicians who successfully contract with Ardor. License, Certification & CE Assistance: Reimbursements and assistance are offered on a case-by-case basis. Approval must be documented by your recruiting team and is not guaranteed for every clinician or assignment.

COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements vary by facility. Ardor Health adheres to the guidelines and requirements of each facility, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
