Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a pediatric inpatient acute care setting
- Preferred minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Work schedule: 48 hours per week, rotating shifts
- Every other weekend and holidays required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Current nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to start
- Primary source license/certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- PALS certification required
- Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid)
Health & Immunizations
- Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing for TB, with annual TB questionnaire
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score, updated yearly
- Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% score, updated as required
- Ascension Skills Checklist for clinical specialty, completed within one year and updated annually
Professional Requirements
- Resume/Profile submission required
- Two professional references required prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, and national sex offender registry within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Completion of Ascension onboarding modules and attestations (including Nova StatStrip, Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding, and Education Attestation)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
Additional Notes
- Some optional documents/checklists may be required by unit leadership after start
- All documentation must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies
- Breaks in service longer than 90 days require re-verification of certain credentials and checks
