Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Assignment
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Employment Type: Travel contract
- Facility: Acute care hospital setting in Wichita, KS
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Must be AHA certified
- NIH Certification - Group A updated yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years
- CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB De-Escalation Course prior to start
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out - Completion of Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation
- Ascension Specialty Exam - Completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years, minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension Core Competencies - HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly, minimum 80% score
- Ascension EKG Exam - Passing score of at least 80%, updated as per latest edition
- Ascension Skills Checklist - Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen - Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified drugs
Licenses & Verifications
- Current RN License - Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys Verification - Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require additional documentation
- Driver's License/State ID - Must be current and valid, matching address requirements
- Education Verification - Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start
- Employment Verification - Third-party verification for past 7 years, updated annually or after break in service
- Criminal Background Check - Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check - Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella - Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) - Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B - Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine - Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire - Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year, and completed TB questionnaire; updated annually
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) - Required within specified timeframes prior to start
- Fit Test - Required for respirator use; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite

- Ascension Badge Photo - Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation - Completion of pre-hire education modules and attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding - Onsite completion prior to assignment
- Ascension Nova StatStrip - Pre-hire modules for non-allied positions
- Ascension Profile - Resume or professional profile submission
- Ascension 2 Professional References - At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment - Documentation of assignment dates on agency letterhead

- Some credentials and checklists are mandatory for onboarding and must be completed prior to or at the start of the assignment.
- Certain certifications and trainings require periodic renewal or updates during the contract.
- Compliance with all health, safety, and professional standards is required for assignment clearance.
