    Description

    Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

    Location: San Francisco, California
    Specialty: Registered Nurse

    Job Description

    • Provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinic setting.
    • Utilize nursing processes including comprehensive patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, patient education, and ongoing evaluation.
    • Deliver holistic, individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
    • Collaborate effectively with patients, families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

    Requirements

    • California RN Licensure
    • BLS (AHA) certification
    • Experience in Scrub and Circulate roles
    • Minimum 1 year of cardiac nursing experience required
    • Experience in Hepatobiliary, Robotic, Spine, or Ophthalmology services preferred

    Shift Details

    • 4 shifts of 10 hours each (4 x 10)
    • Rotating weekends and overtime support

    Background Checks & Compliance

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screening.
    • Sex offender search must be run within 90 days of start.
    • Education verification required for highest level achieved (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).

    Certifications (Verify by Position)

    • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • PALS (AHA or ARC)
    • NRP (AHA/AAP, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course)
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN)
    • TNCC (valid for 4 years)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring, typically for Labor & Delivery)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (verify by position)
    • IV Certification (as applicable)
    • Tech Cert Verification (as applicable)
    • State License Verification (primary source online verification within 30 days of start)
    • NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, APM within 30 days of start)

    Competency Exams (As Applicable)

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • General Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some telemetry units)

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work or specify restrictions)
    • Fit Mask Test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (TDAP required, TD alone not accepted)
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT within 90 days) or 2-step PPD (1st within 1 year, 2nd within 90 days), renewed annually
    • Immunity or vaccination for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
      • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30)
    • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids)

    Employment History & References

    • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; must include city and state of employment.
    • Employment verification required for up to 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
    • Attestations for unverifiable employment over 1 year are not accepted.
    • Two professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates (within 3 years).
