Registered Nurse (Stepdown/PCU RN) - Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights (option to accommodate 4x12 hour shifts if preferred)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in relevant setting (first-timers not accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- License: Must have an active Illinois RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days onsite per week
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts
- Floating: May float within scope as needed
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions

- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Fingerprinting via Illinois Health Care Worker Registry (must be done in Illinois, 3 business days prior to start)
- Education verification (degree verification required)
- State-specific searches including Illinois Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, and State Police registries within 30 days of start
- NURSYS license verification required
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate good physical and mental health, free of communicable disease)
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)

- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by 11/30

- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and other facility-specific documents within 7 days of contract signing
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry and stepdown unit skills, comfortable working nights and every other weekend, and holding an active Illinois RN license.
