Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
- Holiday availability required (either Thanksgiving OR Christmas)
- Start Date: December 15 preferred; January 12 start considered if unable to start before holidays
Credential & Compliance Requirements
Submission Requirements (must be provided before onboarding)
- License/Certificate Verification: Primary source verification of professional license/certification required. MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
- Resume: Include past 7 years of work experience with city & state for all work and education.
- References: Two recent references required, at least one must be a supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.
- Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
- Candidate Submission Coversheet: Current version required for submission.
Onboarding Requirements (must be completed before starting)
- MGB Badge Photo: Color photo taken within past 6 months; no selfies, no filters, plain background, symmetrical headshot, shoulders up, no eyeglasses.
- Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed on the MGB N95 Respirator Fit Test Record Form. No religious exemptions.
- MMR Vaccination or Immunity: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine OR two MMR vaccines OR proof of immunity via blood test.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test within 3 months of start date or negative QuantiFERON TB Test or T-spot blood test within 3 months. Must be updated if there is a break >6 months.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Criminal history check for MA within 30 days prior to start date.
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation: Completed prior to fit test and updated if medical status changes.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions, updated if start date changes.
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company for highest level of education achieved.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check, listing addresses/aliases for past 7 years.
- National Sex Offender Check: Ran within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: Ran within 30 days of start and annually, including OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists.
Optional but Preferred
- Hepatitis B: Record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
- Tdap Vaccine: Within 10 years and updated upon expiration.
- Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation showing no active TB required.
- TB Symptom Survey: Required if positive PPD, updated annually.
Summary
This is a 13-week long-term assignment for an RN in the Emergency Room in Boston, MA. Candidates must be available every other week and able to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday. Comprehensive credentialing and health compliance documentation are required prior to onboarding, including licensure verification, immunizations, fit testing, background checks, and references.
Note: No religious or medical exemptions are allowed for fit testing or influenza vaccination.
