Description
Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 6 months
Job Requirements
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required for submission
- ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required for submission
- Experience:
- 2+ years recent Medical-Surgical (MS) experience required
- Epic experience within the last year is required and must be documented on resume
- Education:
- Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE required
- Other Requirements:
- Float required
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation due at submission; maximum 7 days allowed, no block schedules accepted
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Licenses & Verification:
- Nursing license verification (Nursys) within 30 days of start
- Primary source verification of license/certification within 30 days of start
- Health & Immunizations:
- Fit Test (N95 mask) within 1 year, updated annually
- Pre-employment physical with health statement within 1 year
- COVID-19 vaccine (fully vaccinated required; exemptions case-by-case)
- MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted
- Influenza vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions with approval)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
- Annual TB questionnaire (Summa form)
- Testing & Competency:
- Unit-specific competency exam and skills checklist within 1 year, updated annually
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Summa Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA) within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Background & Screening:
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search) within 90 days of start
- OIG, EPLS, and education verifications within 90 days of start
- Identification:
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security card or number required
Important Notes
- Candidates will be rejected if RTO exceeds 7 days or if requesting block schedules.
- All certifications and verifications must be current and compliant with specified timelines.
- Breaks in service of 30 days or more require repeating certain verifications and tests.
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with recent MS experience and current Epic skills, seeking a 6-month long-term assignment in Ohio.
