Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP (Available start dates: 12/15, 12/29, 1/12)
- Shift: Weekends (Friday to Sunday), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
- Preferred Certifications: TNCSS, TNS
- State License: Wisconsin or Compact License accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted within 50 miles at a lower rate
Background Check Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Must include SS trace, county searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school, nationwide search, and sex offender registry
Certification Details
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications accepted from ARC or AHA, including provider, instructor, and RQI credentials
- NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient, Med Surg, Step Down RN roles; must be renewed annually
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (required for dialysis/kidney center roles)
- Competency Exam (as applicable to specialty)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters)
- Compliance checklist to be completed by agency representative
- Confidentiality statement to be signed prior to start
- Flu vaccine religious or medical exemption forms if applicable
- Dosimeter request form required only for Imaging Department (not for MRI Techs)
Health Document Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually for non-clinical)
- Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable)
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 14 days before start (instant acceptable)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-Mar)
History and References
- Two professional references verified within 2 years of start
- For inpatient RNs (MS, MS/TELE, IMC, Stepdown, ICU): one reference must be from most recent acute care assignment with performance comments
- References must be completed prior to start or require VP approval, which may delay clearance
Additional Notes
- Skills checklist required annually per agency standards
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with required certifications and willingness to work weekend night shifts in a hospital setting. Compliance with background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory.
