Registered Nurse (Interventional Radiology) - Burlingame, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care for patients of all ages using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Specialization in Interventional Radiology (IR) with proficiency in IR procedures, vascular procedures, and Neuro Stroke procedures.
Requirements
- Current California RN Licensure
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Weekend call required
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (09:00 - 17:30)
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
- Sex Offender Search required within 90 days of start.
- Education verification required (not required if highest education is high school). Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Transcript/Diploma verification as needed.
- State-specific Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List search if FACIS III cannot be run.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS and ACLS mandatory.
- Other certifications to verify by position (may include PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, etc.).
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as applicable to profession (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted).
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella - proof of immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law).
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam required).
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.
