Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tracy, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Valid California RN License
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Provider level, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course required
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Comfort and experience working with newborns and delivered mothers

Background Check Requirements

• 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:

  • Social Security trace with all aliases
  • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide sex offender search (within 90 days of start)
  • Education verification (highest level achieved, except if high school)
  • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
  • Motor Vehicle Report if applicable (driving positions only)
• Transcript/Diploma verification or attestation if verification unsuccessful
• Pending background check attestation not accepted for certain facilities; conditional clearances require approval

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• CCRN (Critical Care RN), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) if required by position
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification, typically required for Labor & Delivery
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) may be required; can be completed onsite during orientation
• NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), and other position-specific certifications as applicable
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and other competency exams as required by profession

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any work restrictions documented
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: proof of immunity or vaccination boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination boosters
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
• Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
• Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person only)

Documentation & Compliance

• Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days, verified by agency
• Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually (as applicable)
• Review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

  • Job description
  • Standards of Business Conduct
  • Code of Conduct
  • Vendor Training
  • Overpayment Refund Policy
  • Regulatory Orientation
  • Dress Code Policy (review only)
• TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
• Religious accommodation forms required for exemptions related to facial hair or vaccines
