Job Opportunity: RN CVOR

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (variable based on need/volumes)
  • Call: Based on department needs, including holidays
  • Floating: May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years CVOR experience (higher years of experience confirmed)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required
  • Systems: EPIC experience required

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • Licenses:

    • Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
    • License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
    • Valid Driver's License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match requirements)
  • Certifications:

    • BLS (AHA)
    • ACLS (AHA)
  • Professional Credentials:

    • Resume/Profile submission required
    • At least two professional references required
    • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start
    • EPLS check within 90 days of start
    • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
    • Employment verification for past 7 years
    • Signed assignment agreement

Health & Testing Requirements

  • Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score; updated yearly)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% score; only 2 attempts allowed)
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark; updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (Epic test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical only; completed within one year of start; updated annually)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start; updated annually)
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Fit Test (preferred prior to start; required annually)
  • Immunizations and Health History:
    • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
    • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • TB Testing: 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required

Additional Onboarding Requirements

  • Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
  • Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
  • Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
  • Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable with variable shifts, floating, and working within a large healthcare system using EPIC.
