Job Opportunity: RN Oncology (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology for a travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas.


Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year and updated yearly)
  • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out
  • Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)

Required Health & Immunization Documentation

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Professional Requirements

  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment
  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
  • EPLS check within 90 days of start (rerun if break in service > 90 days)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
  • Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
  • Confirmation of Assignment documentation (updated with each extension)
  • Employment Verification for past seven years (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)

Additional Requirements

  • Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (required prior to clearance)
