Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Yorba Linda, California
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Oncology)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in Oncology and associated diagnoses
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift, Days
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Case Management (CM) experience
- Minimum 1 year of Oncology experience
- Use the higher of any conflicting experience requirements (here, both are 1 year)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ONS Chemo Certification (Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ambulatory experience
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal Background Check within 1 year, updated annually (includes statewide, nationwide, sex offender, SS trace, federal searches)
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer for immunity
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Hepatitis B series or declination (titer not accepted)
- Hepatitis C titer preferred; declination accepted with reason
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines after age 1; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Flu vaccine required annually by December 5th or signed declination
- COVID-19 vaccine documentation for current season or signed declination; masking required if not vaccinated
- Mask fit testing (N95) within 1 year, updated annually
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Unit-specific competency exam (Burn ICU and Interventional Radiology RNs may take ICU exam)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for Tele and MS/Tele RNs
- Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam (minimum 80% passing score)
- Pass/Fail Testing for medication calculation and arrhythmia recognition (EKG exam) with 80% passing score for certain units (MS/Tele, Tele, Step Down, ER, ICU, IR, PACU)
Additional Certifications & Training
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card required for ER and Behavioral Health RNs/CNAs
- NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs prior to start except certain specialties
- Signed HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgments
- Orientation modules and unit-specific job description must be completed/signed prior to start
- Skills self-assessment required for RNs and LVNs
References & Employment History
- Two professional references within 1 year from leadership roles (e.g., Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse)
- Verification of employment for the past 3 years required
- Annual performance evaluation required if working with the agency for 1 year or more
Uniform & Onsite Requirements
- Scrubs: Navy Blue for RNs/LVNs (any brand, must be purchased by candidate)
- Orientation and training modules completed onsite or prior to start as instructed
- Badge and facility-specific acknowledgments required

- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position
- All certifications must be current and original copies available onsite
