Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Burlingame, California

Job Details
- Unit: ICU Float position requiring floating to ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg inpatient units
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend
- On-call: No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Licensure: California RN License required
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of nursing experience (highest required years of experience)
- Skills: Ability to float across ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Sex offender search within 90 days of start
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification (highest level achieved) required
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law)
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start and renewed annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Drug testing and immunization documentation must comply with facility policies
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, PALS, NRP) – verify by position
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Professional license verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
- Work history verification for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
- Photo for badge (passport-style photo) required
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, vendor training, and others prior to start
- Religious exemption forms available for certain requirements (e.g., PAPR, vaccines) and require approval
