Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Santa Barbara, California

Job Details

Shift: 5x8 day shift
Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (eye experience highly desired)
Special Requirement: Must have conscious sedation experience
Charting System: Epic

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
California State Nursing License

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)

Additional Requirements

Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment over 30 days
Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
References: 2 professional references within 3 years (clinical/allied/per diem acute care)
Completion of facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
Completion of TB questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
Competency exams as applicable (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.)
