    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery)

    Location: Burlingame, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract

    Job Description

    • Provide support to Obstetricians, surgical scrub techs, registered nurses, and Charge Nurses in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting.
    • Follow clearly defined procedures under supervision of a Charge Nurse.
    • Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety.
    • May mentor and train nursing students.

    Required Qualifications

    • Licensure: California Registered Nurse (CA RN) license.
    • Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
      • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification (Essential Provider level acceptable for L&D RNs).
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
    • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), every other weekend, no on-call required.

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings.
    • Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required).
    • Immunizations and health screenings required:
      • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually.
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination.
      • Hepatitis B immunity or declination.
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination.
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30).
    • TB questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
    • Color blindness exam if applicable.
    • Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually.

    Documentation and Verification

    • Must provide 7 years of verifiable work history with no gaps.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
    • Professional license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
    • Photo for badge (passport-style).
    • Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, vendor training, and others prior to start.
    • Religious exemption forms available for certain vaccine and PAPR requirements.
