    Description

    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Unit & Patient Population

    • 20 Bed Telemetry Unit
    • Patient types include Cath lab patients, CHF, arrhythmias (symptomatic Afib, Bradycardia), advanced heart failure
    • Some drips involved
    • High acuity patients, especially during winter surgical season
    • Nurse-to-patient ratio up to 4:1

    Shift Details

    • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
    • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
    • Every other weekend required
    • Floating to other units within scope of practice based on census/staffing
    • No on-call required

    Required Certifications

    • California RN License
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
    • Other certifications may be required depending on position (e.g., CCRN, PALS, NRP, TNCC) – verify as applicable

    Experience Requirements

    • Strong foundational knowledge of arrhythmias and management of symptomatic Afib and Bradycardia
    • Experience titrating cardiac medications
    • Management of Post Cardiac Cath patients
    • Experience with advanced heart failure patients

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
    • Immunizations and/or titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
    • Drug testing as noted above
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually

    Additional Notes

    • Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs
    • High acuity patient care environment with complex cardiac cases
    • No on-call responsibilities
    • Weekend work every other weekend
    • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents and policies prior to start (e.g., standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training)
