Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- 20 Bed Telemetry Unit
- Patient types include Cath lab patients, CHF, arrhythmias (symptomatic Afib, Bradycardia), advanced heart failure
- Some drips involved
- High acuity patients, especially during winter surgical season
- Nurse-to-patient ratio up to 4:1
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units within scope of practice based on census/staffing
- No on-call required
Required Certifications
- California RN License
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- Other certifications may be required depending on position (e.g., CCRN, PALS, NRP, TNCC) – verify as applicable
Experience Requirements
- Strong foundational knowledge of arrhythmias and management of symptomatic Afib and Bradycardia
- Experience titrating cardiac medications
- Management of Post Cardiac Cath patients
- Experience with advanced heart failure patients

- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable (e.g., medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug testing as noted above
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually

- Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs
- High acuity patient care environment with complex cardiac cases
- No on-call responsibilities
- Weekend work every other weekend
