    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Santa Rosa, California

    Job Description

    • Work in a fast-paced infusion unit seeing up to 70 patients daily.
    • Responsible for 6-8 infusions per day.
    • Evaluate patient condition and vein health to determine best access site.
    • Review medical history, allergies, and current medications.
    • Monitor vital signs before and after infusions.
    • Insert and manage peripheral IV lines, central lines, ports, or PICC lines.
    • Ensure lines are clean, patent, and secure; prevent/manage complications such as phlebitis, infiltration, or infection.
    • Prepare and administer IV medications, fluids, antibiotics, chemotherapy, or biologics.
    • Adjust flow rates and monitor for adverse reactions or side effects.
    • Follow strict protocols for medication compatibility and infusion timing.
    • Educate patients and caregivers on home infusion therapy and recognizing complications.
    • Document all infusion details including medication, dosage, time, site condition, and patient response.
    • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
    • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.

    Schedule

    • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
    • No on-call or weekend shifts

    Requirements

    • Licensure/Certifications:
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC).
      • Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC).
    • Experience:
      • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in specialty.
    • Background Checks:
      • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
      • Includes Social Security trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • Health Documents:
      • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
      • Fit test within 1 year, renewed annually.
      • Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
      • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov-April).
      • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start.
    • Other:
      • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps.
      • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
