Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
  • ACLS certification is required.

  • Specialty: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

  • TB Test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
  • Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
  • Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted)
  • Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01; vaccine or facility declination accepted)

Additional Onboarding Requirements

  • Skills checklist (completed within 12 months)
  • Background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check) within 30 days of start
  • Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
  • Education verification through third party
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG screening within 30 days of start
  • Professional references (2 required, including 1 supervisor)
  • Drug screen (10 panel, within 30 days of start)
  • Other compliance attestations and screenings as required by facility policies
