Job Opportunity: Travel RN Medical/Surgical

Required Specialty Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical/Surgical
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume standard for Medical/Surgical RN (typically 1+ years)

Certifications & Licenses (Required)

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Ascension-specific certifications and trainings including:

  • Ascension Color Vision (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA; updated yearly)
  • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Group B-F every 2 years)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out
• Health and vaccination requirements:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test (annual, preferred prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Positive IGRA or PPD with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 30 days of start
  • Varicella (two vaccines or immunity proof, no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment
• EPLS check within 90 days of start
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Education verification within 90 days of start
• Employment verification for past 7 years
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
• Ascension Profile and at least two professional references required prior to first assignment
• Various Ascension onboarding modules and attestations (including Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding, Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation, Nova StatStrip training)

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position
• Must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to or at start of assignment
• Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for onboarding
