Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Santa Rosa, California
Job Details

- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8 AM - 5 PM)
Licensure & Certifications Required
- Valid California RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
- Valid California Driver’s License and Auto Insurance (required for driving positions)
Experience Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Demonstrated general nursing knowledge including nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- General knowledge of healthcare industry standards, safety policies, patient care, privacy, and regulatory changes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to prioritize assignments, work independently and as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks in an interrupted environment
- Problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve standard issues
- Commitment to patient privacy and protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, motor vehicle report (for driving roles), and FACIS Level 3 screening
- Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days; full 7 years of work history must be documented in the application
- Professional references required (2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccination series, or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug testing as noted above
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam required)
- Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
Competency & Skills
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units
- Additional competency exams may be required depending on unit and role

- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

- Standards of business conduct
- Code of conduct
- Vendor training
- Overpayment refund policy
- Regulatory orientation for contracted workers
- Conditional offer of employment attestation
- TB questionnaire (within 90 days, renewed annually)
- Religious accommodation forms if applicable (for PAPR or vaccine exemptions)
- Personal or auto insurance required and must be effective for the duration of the assignment (for home health/driving roles)
