Description
Travel RN Opportunity - Neurology Telemetry Unit
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Specialty: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 3
- Unit: Neurology 6C (32 beds)
- Patient Ratios: Vary by shift; nights typically 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
- EMR System: EPIC
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- BLS certification from AHA required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without initially)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, inpatient only (required)
- Preferred: 1 year neuro inpatient experience
- Must have experience and competence in drug titration
- Prior travel experience is NOT required
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Utilize nursing process to care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Follow facility mission, values, and service standards
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Dress code: Black scrubs only
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Flexible scheduling options available (36 or 48 hours/week)
- Holiday and time off requests limited and managed per facility policy
Unit & Patient Population
- Patients primarily neuro, medical, and medical telemetry
- Careful consideration given to patient ratios depending on circumstances
