Experience Requirements

• Must be able to circulate a wide variety of cases including:

  • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular (bowel resections, laparoscopic, daVinci Xi, open & scope urology, bariatrics, c-sections, lap appy, lap chole)
  • Orthopedics (total joints with or without MAKO robot, arthroscopy, ortho trauma)
  • Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics (trach, ENT procedures, plastics, breast reductions, spine fusions, laminectomy, crani, facial fractures, laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, neck dissections)
• Specialized in four groupings: Ortho; Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics; CV-T (including Peripheral Vascular); General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Staffing & Team

• Always staffed 24/7/365 with minimum one RN and one surgical tech
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor roles present
• OR techs available
• EMR system: Cerner

Shifts & Scheduling

• Primarily day shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (or 5:30 PM or 7:30 PM)
• One week of PM shifts (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) approximately every 5 weeks
• Night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) possible with experience at this facility
• Shift lengths: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts; 12-hour shifts available on subsequent contracts if staffing allows (not guaranteed on first contract)
• Call requirements:

  • 1-2 weeknights per week (end of shift to 7:00 AM)
  • 1 weekend every 5-6 weekends
  • At least 1 holiday per year
• Call response times:

  • Call team 1: 30 minutes
  • Call teams 2-4: 45 minutes
• Floating required to Outpatient Surgery Center across campus

Orientation & Training

• 2-3 days orientation with educator covering basics plus computer-based trainings (CBTs)
• 1-2 weeks of supervised cases to learn flow or unfamiliar cases

Additional Notes

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Scrub color/dress code provided at no cost (navy blue)
• Candidates living within 80 miles may have adjusted rates (not relevant for job consideration)
• Must disclose if previously worked at this facility; if yes, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
• Call schedule includes 1 long call per week (Monday-Thursday) and 1 weekend approximately every 5-6 weekends
