    Description

    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel/Contract

    Location: Long Beach, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
    Start Date: ASAP
    Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 0600-1630


    Job Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
    • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
    • Floating: Required
    • Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekends per month
    • On-call: Yes, based on department needs
    • Documentation System: EPIC
    • Scheduling Type: Block, Self-scheduling, etc.
    • Time Off: Pre-approved time off at manager’s discretion; must be included at submission

    Required Certifications

    • ACLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
    • BLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)

    Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP may be required depending on qualification.


    Competency & Testing Requirements

    • Medication Calculation Test (required for all RNs)
    • EKG Test (required for departments with cardiac monitoring)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias EKG Basic or Advanced depending on unit)
    • Color Blind Testing (annual update required)
    • Competency Exam (within 2 years of start date)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation options; failure risks contract cancellation

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam (within 1 year)
    • Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, renewed annually)
    • TDAP vaccine (within last 10 years; declination allowed)
    • Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-Step PPD within 1 year; annual update required)
    • TB Questionnaire (annual)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low/equivocal titer)
    • Hepatitis B Surface Antibody Titer (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required Nov 1 - Apr 30; declination allowed with masking)
    • COVID Vaccination record preferred
    • Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year (instant drug screen acceptable; marijuana panel excluded per CA state law)

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Background Checks (standard 7-year search including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
    • State License Verification (primary source online verification required)
    • NURSYS Verification for RN license
    • HIPAA Education Certificate (must be completed before EPIC modules)
    • EPIC Education Certificate of Completion (approx. 8 hours of modules; must be completed by first in-person day)
    • YouLearn Modules (facility-assigned; must be completed by start week)
    • Photo for badge (not required for Long Beach location)
    • Drug and Alcohol Free Policy review
    • Hand Hygiene and Dress & Appearance Policy review

    Notes

    • Fit testing is provided onsite at most locations except some where candidates must schedule with Employee Health.
    • Some health screenings and certifications may be accepted if recently completed and within facility guidelines.
    • Time off requests must be pre-approved and submitted with application.
    • Candidates within 50 miles of the facility may be eligible for local rate consideration.

    This position is ideal for RNs with CVOR experience looking for a travel contract in California with a reputable healthcare system using EPIC documentation and requiring strong clinical competencies and certifications.
