Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (06:30 AM - 03:00 PM), Monday through Friday
- On Call: 11 to 12 days per month, including approximately every 3rd weekend
- Start Date: ASAP (Orientation on Tuesday)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Registered Nurse)
- License: Missouri RN or Compact License
- Charting System: Cerner experience required
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or RQI certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or RQI certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ED/ER & Pediatrics (ENPC accepted/preferred in lieu of PALS)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ED/ER and ICU candidates; ACTN cert acceptable alternative
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for Labor & Delivery (valid for 2 years)
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for Med/Surg, Tele, ICU/Neuro ICU, CCU, PCU, and ER; must be updated annually
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for all candidates starting 1/1/2026 (in-person course)
- Pass/Fail Testing: Required for Telemetry, PCU, Critical Care, and ER RNs (EKG test at orientation, must score >80%)
- Safe Medication Administration Agreement: Required for all RN candidates
- State License Verification: Primary source verification required
- NURSYS Verification: Required
Competencies & Training
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Dysrhythmia Advanced Course required for MS/Tele, Tele, ER, ICU; must score 80%+ overall and 100% on lethal arrhythmias section
- Core Training: Proof of OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training required (attestation or CORE testing acceptable)
- HealthStream Modules: Facility-managed; must be completed by Friday of orientation week
- Skills Checklist: Required; MS skills accepted for Rehab placements
Background Checks & Screening
- Criminal background check covering all states/counties lived or worked in past 7 years (not required annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and OIG checks required
- MO EDL Search required prior to start with digital signature verification
- Transcript/Diploma verification required for ED nurses (high school or college diploma/transcripts)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask Test: Must pass onsite fit test; no facial hair allowed
- Flu Vaccination: Required by 11/1; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approved facility forms
- COVID Vaccination: Required prior to start; facility-specific waiver form accepted in lieu
- TB Screening: Negative 2-step PPD, QGold, or TSPOT within 1 year of start; can pend at start with lab proof
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with 2 boosters for low titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with 1 booster for low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination accepted (Aya requirement)
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
Facility Policies
- Flu Shot Medical/Religious Exemption Forms: Accepted with facility-specific approval
- Artificial and Natural Nail Policy: Required for all candidates
- Dress Code Policy: Required for all candidates
- Safe Medication Administration Agreement: Must adhere to medication policy or risk contract termination

- References: 2 recent references required
- Employment Application: Candidate application or resume required
- Radiation Badge: Required only for CT Techs & X-Ray Techs (not applicable for RN)
