    Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Irvine, California

    Specialty

    • Registered Nurse (RN) with Oncology experience

    Contract Length

    • 13 weeks

    Required Experience

    • Minimum 1 year of Case Management (CM) experience
    • Minimum 1 year of Oncology experience
      Note: Use the higher required years of experience if discrepancies arise; here both are 1 year.

    Certifications & Licenses Required

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs prior to start except certain specialties)
    • Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
    • Negative 10-Panel Drug Screen (within 1 year, updated annually)
    • Fit Mask Testing (N95 type, within 1 year, renewed annually)
    • Immunizations and Titers:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer showing immunity
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year for PPD, within 4 years for chest X-ray if positive TB)
      • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines after age 1; boosters required if negative/equivocal
      • Hepatitis B series or declination (titer not accepted)
      • Hepatitis C titer strongly preferred; declination accepted with reason
      • Seasonal Flu Vaccination (required by 12/5 annually) or signed declination
      • COVID-19 vaccination documentation for current season or signed declination; masking required if not vaccinated

    Preferred Skills

    Unit Information

    • Oncology and associated diagnoses
    • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift, days

    Prior Travel Experience

    • Accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience NOT required)

    Competency & Testing Requirements

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Unit-specific Competency Exam (Burn ICU and Interventional Radiology RNs may take ICU exam)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele and MS/Tele RNs)
    • Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens Exam (passing score 80% required)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (Medication/Calculation Exam and Arrhythmia Recognition Assessment with 80% passing score for certain units)
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for RNs in ER and Behavioral Health (CPI Blue Card only)

    References & History

    • Two references within 1 year from leadership roles (e.g., Department Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse)
    • Verification of employment for past 3 years required
    • Annual performance evaluation required if working with Aya for 1 year or more

    Orientation & Onboarding

    • Orientation modules completed onsite for travel staff
    • Signed HIPAA acknowledgment required
    • Unit-specific job description must be signed prior to start
    • Skills self-assessment required for RNs and LVNs
    • Various facility-specific packets and acknowledgments (e.g., Epidural Pain Policy, Standard of Care: Skin Care, Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy)

    Dress Code

    • Navy blue scrubs for RNs/LVNs (must be purchased by candidate; not provided)

    This position offers a structured schedule in a specialized oncology unit with comprehensive credentialing and competency requirements, suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of oncology and case management experience. First-time travel nurses are welcome.
