Job Description

Provide nursing care in the postpartum unit, supporting mothers and newborns in a hospital setting.


Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN Post Partum

    • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations)
    • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire
  • Health Statement or physical exam (annual)
  • Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)

Required Onboarding & Compliance

  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Background checks including:
    • Criminal background check (7-year search including SSN trace, OIG, National Sex Offender)
    • EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days of start
  • Drug Screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Education verification within 90 days prior to start
  • Employment verification for past 7 years
  • Ascension-specific onboarding requirements and attestations
  • Skills checklist and competency validations updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Some assessments and checklists must be completed prior to or at onboarding, including color vision test and unit-specific checklists.
  • Certain exams and competencies require a minimum passing score of 80% with limited attempts.
  • Documentation of all required immunizations and health screenings must be current and uploaded as part of credentialing.
  • This position requires compliance with facility-specific electronic health record testing (Cerner).
