Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - LTC

Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Specialty: Long-Term Care (LTC) RN

Facility & Unit Information

• Type of Facility: Nursing Home attached to hospital
• Number of Beds/Residents: 70 (majority private)
• EMR System: ECS
• Patient Population: Dementia, frail elderly, rehabilitation patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • RNs: 1:20
  • LPNs: 1:20
  • CNAs: 1:8

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Charting and assessments
• Charge nurse duties
• Medication administration
• Clinical skills including IVs, catheters, ostomy care
• Floating between units as needed

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience working with elderly patients required
• Must be proficient with IVs and titratable drips
• BLS (AHA) certification required

Work Environment & Team

• Interdisciplinary team includes Therapy, Administration, Social Workers, Activities, Dietary, Housekeeping
• Respiratory Therapist on-site 24/7
• Pharmacy and medication dispensing system on-site
• No telemonitors or RN strip reading required
• Physician availability after hours
• No on-call or standby requirements

Scheduling & Shifts

• Block schedule with 8-hour shifts
• Day/PM shifts staffed with 4 nurses and 7 aides
• Night shift staffed with 2 nurses and 3-4 aides
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend unless specified
• Holiday requirement: available for at least half of holidays during assignment

• Must clock in and out at the facility
