Job Opportunity: RN ICU (Travel)

Location: Mequon, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an Acuity Adaptable Unit with a mix of ICU/IMC and Med/Surg patients
  • Schedule includes Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Must be willing to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
  • No artificial/acrylic nails; nails must be short (< 1/4 inch)

Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN ICU
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) completed within a year of start, updated yearly
  • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
  • Ascension EKG Exam with passing score (80%)
  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually, preferred prior to start
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 30 days of start
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Onboarding & Professional Requirements

  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment
  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
  • EPLS check within 90 days prior to start
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification) within one year of start, updated annually
  • Education Verification within 90 days prior to start
  • Employment Verification for past 7 years
  • Confirmation of Assignment documentation
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (training and test)
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip training
  • Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no filters)

Additional Notes

  • Must comply with all Ascension Health onboarding and credentialing requirements
  • Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required within skill set
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required for this assignment
