Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) schedule
- Requires 2 or more years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Ability to interpret heart rhythms and tele monitoring
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
- May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience (highest requirement)
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Certifications & Licenses Required
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification mandatory
- Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Mandatory Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Ascension Epic Test-Out (Epic test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nova StatStrip training
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender; within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension EPLS (within 90 days prior to start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
- Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided upon initial assignment and updates)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Immunization & Health Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start
Additional Notes
- Resume/Profile and at least two professional references required prior to first assignment
- May be required to float to other sites within 40 miles based on staffing needs
This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical RNs comfortable with travel assignments and working in a dynamic hospital environment with EPIC system proficiency.
