    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: San Francisco, California


    Position Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930), no on-call; weekend rotation required
    • Floating: As needed

    Experience Requirements

    • ICU Experience: Minimum 3 years required, 4 years preferred
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

    Licenses & Certifications Required

    • California RN License
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
    • Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, PALS, NRP) – verify as applicable

    Background & Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
      • Nationwide sex offender search (within 90 days of start)
      • Education verification (highest level achieved)
      • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
    • Work history verification required for up to 7 years

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work)
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • Immunizations and/or titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination signed
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually

    Competency & Testing Requirements

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required
    • ICU RNs at this facility required to take an onsite EKG exam after start

      • Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)
      • Vendor training (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)

      • General regulatory orientation for contracted workers
      • Conditional offer of employment attestation
      • TB screening questionnaire (within 90 days of start, renewed annually)
    • Dress code policy must be reviewed prior to start

    • Background check conditional clearances are generally not accepted at this facility; delays must be escalated for approval
